Reiki is a Japanese energy healing art. Through the laying on of hands, the universal life energy (Reiki) is transferred by the Reiki master to the body of the recipient. This all-encompassing energy is called Prana in India, Qi or Chi in the Far East and Wilhelm Reich called it Orgon. The Reiki treatment has a very relaxing effect and can be used, for example, for stress reduction, pain, anxiety, depression, injuries and energetic blockages. The Reiki master takes on the role of a mediator, since Reiki is universally available. His task is to guide Reiki to where it is needed. His hands do not even have to touch the body. Recipients regularly report a palpable warmth under the master's hands and sometimes fall asleep during the treatment. You don't have to be a medium to practise Reiki. Anyone can learn it. You don't even have to believe in the universal life energy. It works anyway. I'm sure we've all had the experience of mum or dad laying a hand on us when we were in pain as a child. We do this intuitively and it helps. The pain disappears after a short time and the child relaxes. This is not imagination. People have abilities that are difficult to recognise in science because they cannot be measured directly. But we can still experience and verify them.
Reiki is apparently increasingly used in hospitals to achieve better healing results after conventional medical treatments. It can stimulate the immune system and strengthen the body's natural self-healing powers. I can well imagine that this form of treatment could also be used in psychiatry. I personally use Reiki together with other tools to induce a state of relaxation in my clients and to get the energy flow in the body going. I am not primarily concerned with physical symptoms, but rather with creating a state in which they can talk freely about their problems. This is only really possible when you are free from pain, stress and anxiety and relaxed. Reiki has proven to be a valuable tools in this regards. Only when we can communicate freely can we effectively get to the root of our problems. My job is not to heal people. That's not how it works. Everyone has to do the healing themselves. My job is to help people to find the causes of their health problems, remove blockages and work with them to set the process of self-healing in motion. Reiki is a valuable helper that supports me in doing just that.
I also use Reiki more and more in my private life. But more often for pain and tension. It is amazing how quickly most pains can be eliminated by this simple method. The energy flows exactly where we direct our attention. If the receiver also concentrates on the areas to be treated, the whole procedure can even be intensified. The healing then becomes a joint project. As I myself do not really notice what is happening in the recipient's body, it's always interesting to talk about the changes after the session. One can feel very well when a blockage is released. The detailed descriptions of the effects that I sometimes hear surprise me again and again.
I would recommend Reiki training to anyone who wants to take their health into their own hands. Personally, I completed it at the Reiki school by Sandra Eng in the heart of Switzerland. Sandra is a wonderful soul. I can wholeheartedly recommend her. The training takes place in four stages. Each level includes a basic seminar and an in-depth training, whereby the in-depth training is optional. Each basic training includes an initiation ritual that gives you free access to Reiki. This enables you to channel Reiki without releasing your own life energy. Level one is all about bodywork. Level two delves more into energetic aspects such as the aura. Level three involves working with the Akashic Records. Level four is the training to become a Reiki Master, which allows you to teach Reiki.
